As part of the flood protection at the river Saale the existing dike was improved with a Mixed-in-Place Cut-off Wall in the city Halle-Neustadt.

The river Saale is a river in Bavaria, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt. With a length of 413 kilometers, it is the second longest tributary of the river Elbe after the Vltava (Moldau).
