Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Powerplant Project

Execution of Cut-off Wall Works at Mangdechhu successfully completed

In August 2014, Bauer successfully completed a plastic concrete cut-off wall at the Mangdechhu river
for the 720 MW Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Powerplant Project, the second such wall installed in the
center of Bhutan. The two-phase cutter excavated cut-off wall was executed including pre-treatment.
In the V-shaped valley, the excavation through boulders reaches bedrock along the exposed rock
surface, rock-strength with UCS-values in excess of 100 MPa, and down to as deep as 57 m below
 actual working platform level.
